Nutshell: we had the strongest support of any Republican legislative candidate in ten years, in this district, and laid a good foundation. Stats: 14,300 doors knocked; 103 out of 128 precincts (neighborhoods) doorbelled; raised $103,000 from over 300 donors.

Congratulations to Representative Liias on being elected to serve our district for two more years. Keep an eye on his votes at www.leg.wa.gov; last spring, he urged his fellow legislators to join him in voting to suspend I-960, the voter-supported initiative that required a 2/3 majority in both the House and the Senate before raising taxes. A similar initiative, I-1053, passed this November with 60% of the vote in our district, showing that the 21st District expects the Legislature to live within their means. I am hopeful that Rep. Liias will keep his campaign promises of fiscal responsibility, easing the burden on small businesses, and bipartisanship.
