Curbing Runaway Government ---at the Federal Level

There is a national movement to curb federal government and it is gaining momentum rapidly. Our state Attorney General, Rob McKenna, is joining a dozen other Attorneys General in opposition to the federal government's efforts to control health care. Our State Constitution affirms that the U.S. Constitution is the 'supreme law of the land.' Article 1, Section 8 of the U.S. Constitution includes a list (enumerated powers) of the areas that are under Congress' jurisdiction, areas such as the military, immigration and naturalization laws, trade between countries, etc. Then in the 10th Amendment, we are reminded even more specifically that all else falls "to the States or to the People."
Two states, Tennessee and Idaho, have already passed legislation declaring that they will ignore federal laws and regulations on health care that is offered and purchased within their states. A third, Arizona, passed similar legislation but is putting it to their people on the ballot this November.
